As we all know, the finale's finale aired, and princess Sparkle is now canon. Yippee. Skippy.
THAT being said, it leaves me in a bit of a bind as to what to do with my headcanon. I've no trouble at all ignoring parts of season 3 for the sake of my story, but there are some factors I've been taking into account (the Crystal empire, for one, fills a couple of gaps I had before--need to update my headcanon sheet...) Lightning Dust and Babs are obviously added as characters because OTP (don't judge me) and I adore Lightning Dust.
However, Princess Sparkle-hooves, I REALLY need to think about. I was talking to a friend and have found a way I could incorporate her into my story without changing much but...I really hate Twilight with wings XD;; (Her body's too small for ones her size.) So...leaving it up to you.
If Twilight were a princess, the story would change like this:
--She'd still be with Spike. Obviously. He'd go with her to...wherever her kingdom was. As a young princess, though, she'd go with Cadence to the Crystal empire to learn from her and her brother (because Celestia already has Luna and would suggest, anyway, Twilight stay with family.) After a while, she and Spike would...again, find someplace to rule, although I have NO idea where. Eh.
--Spike would still have to leave when he grew too large to live in her castle/home/kingdom/IDK, so you'd still get that kind of heartbreak. The one plus-side to princess Twilight, is that she'd now be immortal, and they'd really be soulmates, outliving everyone else. NightChaser would live longer, too...he does already (dragon-blood) but now...really.
--when Night Chaser is very young, Twilight, who's lived with royal responsibilities and the hectic life it creates, decides she doesn't want her son growing up like that (also because she remembers what Rarity said of Blueblood.) So, she'd goon break, of sorts, visiting her kingdom only sparingly--to make sure the ponies were behaving themselves. (She's big on "Friendship" and self-discovery" and all that--trusting them to rule themselves, so to speak.) Meanwhile, she and her son would move back to Ponyville when Night Chaser is young enough not to remember the early months of his life.
--He still grows up the same, living in the Library with Twilight, and still only sees his father sparingly.
--I'm not sure of the children of her friends know she's a princess. I think Lapis has figured it out. Sky Light, too. But the youngest ones, and Buck and Sprite, probably not.
--She'd still be in Ponyville for the main next gen story, but afterwards, she'd move back to her kingdom, and as an adult, Night Chaser stays behind. Still visits, but he'd prefer to stay true to his cutie mark, and one can't explore with royal duties in the way.
--as for his birth...Celestia helped the first time around but now that Twilight is immortal...although she is still awfully small...
Eh. What do you guys, think? Yes or no? I'm fine either way.
